Tomatoes are available year round.  Tomato chutney, tomato rice, pulao, soup , gravies and juice. Name anything with tomato my family loves it. My older kid likes to eat dosa/idly with nutella/jam. This chutney and bombay chutney are the only way I can make him eat proper desi style breakfast.
I din't add coriander in this chutney this time. But saute some coriander and add it to the chutney it is delicious. Tomatoes I used are not that tangy so I added a little more of tamarind extract than I mentioned. If tomatoes are very sour then add 1/2 tsp of sugar .

Tomatoes                              5
Peanuts                                 1/4 cup
Green chilies                        6(adjust)
Tamarind extract                  1 tbsp(adjust for sourness)
Oil                                        1 tbsp
Salt                                       as needed

Oil                                         1 tbsp
Mustard seeds                       1 tsp
Red chilly                              1
Curry leaves                          2

1) Add little oil in the pan. Add peanuts and roast until it turns  . Take a side.
Slit the  green chilies and saute for 1 minute in little oil.

2) Add remaining oil and then add tomatoes. Let the tomatoes become mushy.
Let them cool down.

3) Add roasted peanuts, tomatoes, tamarind, green chilies and salt.
Blend it into smooth paste by adding little water(2 tbsp)

4) Add oil in pan. Add mustard seeds once they splutter add the red chilly and curry leaves.
Add the tempering to the chutney.
Serve with idly or dosa.
Don't forget to thank me.
