                                             Pumpkin halwa !!! Ahh , I made it several times. But when ever I find a pumpkin at a store I can only visualize a bowl of hot pumpkin halwa not pumpkin. And these days we find pumpkins every where you know why? Because , it is fall time . The nature is wearing a orange blanket . I make pumpkin halwa, curry, stew, soup. 
                                           I din't add much ghee this time as mentioned in the description because I ran out of ghee while making diwali sweets. Good for me in a way I skipped eating ghee . But do add everything as mentioned to get the absolute divine taste of halwa. Ahem Ahem I tried to make a healthy halwa for me so you cannot find some nuts too. 

Pumpkin/Gummidikaya                     250 gms / 1 cup
Sugar                                                 1/4 -1/2 cup(adjust to your sweetness)
Ghee                                                  5 tsp
Dry fruits                                           1 cup(almonds, cashew nuts and raisins)

1)Cut the pumpkin/gummidikaya into cubes and pressure cook for 1 whistle with little water until soft.
Then mash and keep aside.
2)Now in a pan, add ghee and fry all the dry fruits turn golden brown and raisins start to puff.
Now add the mashed pumkin.

3)Add the sugar mix well and cook till the sugar dissolves. Add the cardamom powder to it and mix well.
 (without ghee and nuts)

4)Let it cook till halwa thickens.(rawness of the pumpkin should go approx to 10 minutes) . Once the mixture is leaving the pan then our halwa is done. Turn off the flame and serve warm.
