NAAN
Naan (with yeast)
INGREDIENTS::
All purpose flour/Maida 2 cups
Dry active yeast 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Baking soda 1 pinch
Oil 2 tsp
Yogurt 21/2 tsp
Lukewarm milk 3/4 cup
Garlic cloves 2(finely chopped)(optional)
FOR ROLLING NAAN::
All purpose flour/maida 1/4 cup
Ghee 1 tsp
If we are having pizza stone we can get exactly like the clay tandoor . Unfortunately i don't have the pizza stone but it also worked out great on normal baking tray.
PROCEDURE::
1) Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and let it sit for 10 minutes (The mixture becomes frothy)
2)Add salt,sugar and baking soda to the flour and mix well.
3)Now add oil and yogurt to make crumbly dough. Add the milk-yeast mixture and some water to need it into firm dough. Knead the dough until it is smooth.
4)Cover the dough with some aluminium foil or plastic wrap and keep in warm place 3-4 hours. It will double in volume once it gets fermented for hours.
5)Preheat the oven for 200 degree Fahrenheit then turn it off. Now place the dough in it.(it will work better)
5)Knead the dough for sometime. Then divide it into six balls.
NAAN IN CONVENTIONAL OVEN ::
7)Preheat the oven to 500 degree Fahrenheit . Once preheated then change to broil.
8)Place the naan on the baking sheet. And place it in the oven.
9))It will take 2-3 minutes for 1 naan. If we roll into two small naans then you can place 2 naans on one baking sheet. And do them simultaneously.
Sprinkle some finely chopped garlic on the naan.(optional , i want to naan taste like garlic naan)
9)Once we take the naan out then brush them with ghee.

6)Now roll the balls into oval shape by dusting with all purpose flour.

Give 1-2 minutes interval between 1 set of naan and the other.
