CHICKEN CURRY


INGREDIENTS:
Chicken                                   500 gms
Bay leaf                                   1
Onion                                      1 medium( Slit length wise)
Green chilies                           2
Curry leaves                            1 sprig
Ginger-garlic paste                 1 tsp
Tomatoes                                2
Salt                                         as needed
Chilly powder                        1 tsp
Coriander leaves                    few for garnishing
Coriander powder                  1 tsp
Garam masala                        1 tsp

PROCEDURE::
1) Heat oil in a pan. Add the bay leaf, saute for half a minute and then add the onion pieces , green chilies and curry leaves,saute  till they turn golden brown. . Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute until the raw smell leaves it. (approx 1 min) 

2)Add the tomatoes , cover lid and  cook till they turn mushy.
3)Clean the cut chicken pieces and then add them to the tomato mixture.
 Saute the chicken pieces for 4-5 minutes. Now cover the lid and then cook till all the water comes from the chicken.
4)Add the coriander powder, red chilly powder and garam masala to the chicken. 
Mix well and cover the lid and cook for 7-8 minutes.
Add salt as needed.
Now add the chopped coriander leaves to the curry. Turn off the heat and serve.
