BREAD UPMA
INGREDIENTS::
Bread 6 slices
Onion 1
Green chilies 3
Tomato 1
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Water 2 tbsp
FOR TEMPERING::
Oil 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Chana dal 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
PROCEDURE::
1)Cut the bread slices into pieces.
Now sprinkle little water on the bread pieces so that they become soft .Keep aside.
2)Heat oil in a pan, now add the mustard seeds once splutter then add the cumin seeds, urad dal and chana dal. Saute for 1 minute now add the onion once they turn transparent then add the green chilies and curry leaves.
Now add the tomatoes , salt , turmeric and close the lid. Let the tomatoes turn mushy.
3)Now add the bread pieces to the tomato mixture. Mix well and then cook until the bread observes all the flavors for about 5 minutes. Turn off the stove and serve hot. (we can lemon juice too)
* Don't use more water while sprinkling because that might make the bread mushy.
