CHICK PEAS FRY


INGREDIENTS::
Chick peas                    1 cup          
Salt                               as needed
Onion                            1/2 number(finely chopped)optional
Red chilies                    3
Curry leaves                 1 sprig

Red chilly powder        1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds              1 tsp
Cumin seeds                 1 tsp
Urad dal                       1 tsp
Chana dal                     1 tsp
Shredded coconut         2 tsp

PROCEDURE::
1)Wash and soak the chickpeas over night .
Drain the water and pressure cook chickpeas with just enough water to immerse them .
Cook for 2 whistles nearly 10 minutes.

Drain the excess water and then keep aside.
2) Heat oil. Add mustard seeds once they splutter add cumin seeds, urad dal and chana dal.
Now add red chilies,curry leaves saute for 1 min. Add onion pieces saute till they turn transparent  .

3)Now add the cooked chickpeas to them. Add salt , red chilly powder and then mix well.
Close the lid and let them cook for 4-5 minutes.

Finally mix well again and add the shredded coconut.Toss and turn off the heat.
