DABELI /KUTCH DABELI

                                                I always wonder what to make for snack. As a south indian I have some standard snack recipes . But with the globalization we can try and taste various cuisines . As a foodie I always love to explore different recipes. I like Gujarati food dhokla, khaman, handvo😋. But never heard about Dabeli.  My Gujarati friend introduced me to Dabeli. Dabeli is a Gujarathi snack where a heated bun is filled with potatoes mixture and chutneys. Some call it the Kutchi Dabeli as it is originated from Kutch. It is lip smackingly delicious . 
                                                   

                                             Dabeli has different flavors as it is made with sweet chutney and garlic chutney. We can add crunch to it with pomegranate seeds and peanuts. Set everything ready and enjoy your dabeli when it is hot. Dabeli masala is a dry paste which is made with a combination of several ingredients. I bought this dabeli masala when I made it for the first time.  It is available in Indian stores. But for the second time I tried the masala recipe which came out well😇. So, note down the ingredients , jump into your aprons and get a blast of flavors in your mouth. INGREDIENTS:
Pav buns                              4
Boiled potatoes                   2
Onion                                  1(medium)
Pomegranate seeds             1/2 cup
Roasted peanuts                 1/4 cup
Dabeli masala                    11/2 tbsp
Oil                                       3 tbsp
Salt                                      as needed
Lemon juice                        1 tbsp
Sweet and dates chutney     1 cup
Sugar                                    1 tbsp(optional)
Sev                                       1 cup
Cilantro/ coriander leaves    2 tbsp
Garlic chutney                      1/4 cup
Onions                                  2 medium
Butter                                   2 tbsps                    

PROCEDURE:
1) Wash the potatoes and boil them .
Remove the peel and mash potatoes.

2) Dry roast the peanuts and remove the skin.  Add red chilly powder and salt. Mix and set aside.

3) Heat oil in a pan. Add the mashed potatoes, lemon juice, sugar and dabeli masala. Mix and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat and set aside.
This is the dabeli masala packet which I bought from Indian store.


4) Melt butter on a tawa. Then place the pav. Once the pav is golden brown take it aside.

5) Apply sweet chutney on one side and garlic chutney on the other side.
Place the potato mixture on the pav. Then add the roasted peanuts, sev, pomegranate seeds, coriander leaves  and chopped onion.

Place the other side of the bun.
Enjoy your yummy dabeli .
