CHANA PULAV
INGREDIENTS::
Basmati rice 2 cups
Chana 1 cup
Onion 1(chopped length wise)
Green chilies 3
Chana masala powder 1 tsp
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes 2(chopped)
Mint leaves 10-15
Corainder leaves few
Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
Water 3 cups(rice)+31/2 cups(boiling chana dal)
Salt as needed
FOR TEMPERING::
Ghee + Oil 2 tsp
Bay leaf 1
Cloves 4
Cinnamon 1 small piece
PROCEDURE::
1) Wash chana dal and soak it over night.
Now cook the chana dal for 5 whistles with 31/2 cups of water.
Strain the water from them and keep aside.
2)Wash the rice until the water is clear.Now add some water and soak it for 1 hour.
3)Now heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker.
Add the bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon . Now add the onion and green chilies to it.
Saute until it turns transparent.
4)Add the ginger-garlic paste to it. Saute till the raw smell leaves it.
Now add the tomatoes to it. Let them turn mushy.

5)Now add the chana masala powder,garam masala and red chilly powder to it.
Mix well.
6)Now add the boiled chana dal. Strain water from the rice then add rice to the mixture and then mix well.
Saute for 1 minute.
Add the 3 cups of water to it and close the lid.
Wait for 2 whistles. Let it cool down completely.
SERVE WITH RAITA..
