TOMATO ONION CHUTNEY


INGREDIENTS::
Tomato                             1(big)
Onion                                1(big)
Red chilies                         3
Chana dal                          1tblsp
Salt                                  as required
Oil                                    2 tsp

FOR TEMPERING::
Curry leaves                       1 sprig
Mustard seeds                    1/2 tsp
Urad dal                             1/2 tsp
Asefotide                            1 pinch
Oil                                      1 tsp


PROCEDURE::
1)Heat oil in a pan add red chilies and chana dal fry until golden brown.
Take into a plate and cool down.
2) Add onions in the pan fry till transparent. keep a side.
3)Add tomatoes and fry until soft.Cool down.
4)Grind all the ingredients that are fried with salt and little water.
5)Transfer the chutney to a bowl and temper with items under tempering heading.



              SERVE WITH IDLY OR DOSA.
