INGREDIENTS::
Idly rice/ Regular rice 1 cup
Urad dal 3 tsp
Chana dal 2 tsp
Red chilies 3
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Asefotide/Hing 1 pinch
Eno fruit salt 1 tsp
Salt as needed
PROCEDURE::
1)Wash the dals. Fill fresh water and soak the rice, urad dal, chana dal and red chilies for 3-4 hours.
I soak it for overnight.
2)Remove the water from the dals and grind the soaked dals, red chilies, curry leaves ,cumin seeds,salt and hing into little coarse paste.
3)Add the eno fruit salt or baking soda to it and mix well so that the batter rises.
4)Now pour the batter into the oil greased idly plates and let it cook in idly cooker for 10-11 minutes or until the pressure goes away.
Turn off .Let them cool down and then take them into plate .
SERVE WITH CHUTNEY
