KATTE PONGALI


INGREDIENTS::
Rice                                  3/4 cup                      
Pesara pappu                      1/4 cup
Pepper powder                    1 tsp(or we can add pepper corn)
Cumin seeds                        1/2 tsp
Ghee                                  1 tsp
Green chilies                       2
Ginger                               1 tsp(finely chopped)
Curry Leaves                      1 sprig
Cashew nuts                       8
Salt                                    as needed
Water                                 3 cups

PROCEDURE::
1)Wash the rice and dal . Keep aside.
Fry the dal until golden brown in little ghee and then keep aside.

2)Now take a pan, melt ghee in it . Then fry the cashew nuts until golden brown and keep aside.
Add the remaining ghee and let it melt then add the cumin seeds, ginger ,curry leaves and pepper .
3)Now add the rice and fried dal to it.
Then add water and let them cook until it gets cooked.
Or we can directly cook in cooker until 2 whistles.

4)Add salt and then garnish with fried cashew nuts.
