LEMON VERMICELLI/SEMIYA PULIHORA


INGREDIENTS::
Vermicelli                      11/2  cup
Turmeric                        pinch
Salt                                as needed
Lemon juice                    1/2 lemon(adjust)

Water                            3 cups
FOR TEMPERING::
Oil                                                    1 tsp
Mustard seeds                                  1 tsp
Urad dal/Minapappu                         1/2 tsp
Chana dal /Chanaga pappu                1/2 tsp
Red chilies                                         2
Green chilies                                      2
Ginger                                               1/2 tsp (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder                               1/4 tsp
Peanuts                                              3 tsp(roasted)
Curry leaves                                      1 sprig

PROCEDURE::
1)Boil water ,then add the vermicelli and salt.
Let it boil for 5 minutes.
2)Now strain the water and pour some cold water on it (as we do for noodles).Then keep aside.


3)Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add the chana dal, urad dal saute until it turns golden brown. Then add the green chilies, red chilies , ginger, roasted peanuts, curry leaves and turmeric powder. Saute for 2 minutes.

Now add the cooked vermicelli to it.


Finally add the lemon juice. Mix well so that the tempering blends with the vermicelli.
